I watched him/her cross one trail as I ran to catch up but was too late as s/he slid into the water.
I expected s/he might cross the small waterway & come up the other side to get to the lake, so I circled around to get the sun behind me and get into position so that I wouldn’t be seen … (but having an escape route in mind, just in case) …
and whaddya know… up from the depths it made its way ….

Dryer motor starts house fire
MILFORD – A malfunctioning dryer motor started a fire at a single-family home at 14 Edgewood St. Sunday morning. No one was injured, but there was significant smoke damage from the fire that “didn’t go beyond the first alarm,” said Milford Fire Chief Frank Fraitzl.
