Question by MagicSquares: Does anybody know how many dogs die from Canine Parvovirus each year?
Any statistics would be great, especially if they’re for the USA.

Best answer:

Answer by KEVINI do not know the exact number but it is way too many. That is why puppies should not go for walks or parks until they are at least 18 weeks old and have had ALL of their shots. If a puppy comes in contact with an area where a dog has pooped and had parvo, even if the poop is gone the puppy can still get parvo. This is even if the poop was there as long as a year ago. Only if the area was cleaned with bleach would it be some what safe. This information came… Continue reading this item... | 1 Comment

New DVDs Give Dogs Quality Entertainment…Yes, Seriously!

(PRWEB) March 14, 2013

Forty-five to ninety percent of veterinary visits by dog owners result in discussions about the pet’s behavior. In cases of separation anxiety, the usual response from vets has been a prescription of pricey canine tranquilizers, leaving dogs fatigued and unresponsive. Rather than sedatives, Doggy DVDs has a different approach to separation anxiety: entertain the dog with videos providing sights… Continue reading this item...

Question by Jennifer: How long to does it take for female dogs to grow their coat back after pregnancy shedding?
My foster dog, Sassy, is a severely malnourished yellow lab. Her fur has gotten very thin everywhere except her head, neck, and tail. She still has fur, but it’s thin, dull, and coarse, with no undercoat at all. I took her to the vet today, and was told that, even though she’s malnourished, she most likely lost her coat due to having puppies within the last few weeks. The vet called it a “blown coat” situation. She’s still shedding, but it seems to have slowed since I first met her last week.

Has anyone ever had a dog that lost her coat due to pregnancy stress? If so, how long… Continue reading this item... | 3 Comments
