Elderly people tend to become very attached to their pets. In some cases, this has to do with the fact that they have had the pet for a number of years; in others, it is about the fact that the pet has become a companion in their life. Therefore, when the death of a pet occurs, it can be as devastating to anyone — but particularly an elderly person — as a human loss. After all, the pet served as a friend, protector and sometimes, a guide.

Helping seniors overcome such a loss usually starts with the proper method of pet memorial. Once someone has gotten so attached to their pet, they cannot just bury their friend and move on. Older people usually want to mark the occasion… Continue reading this item...

MY BUNNY HAS EAR MITES! PLEASE HELP? ):?

Question by Hi Hello: MY BUNNY HAS EAR MITES! PLEASE HELP? ):?
so like two days ago i discovered my bunny had ear mites. i don’t know how long hes had them. today i went to Petco and i bought him a ferret treatment. (there was no bunny ones) and i read that cat and dog ones are to strong for bunnies. anyways, the ferret ear cleaner i bought him looks like this:

http://www.petco.com/product/10499/Marshall-Pet-Ferret-Ear-Cleaner.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch

would this help kill the mites? ): the directions say: “for routine cleaning, apply liberally to ear canal and massage well. repeat if necessary. clean accessible area with a cotton ball. apply once or weekly for good ear health.”

im thinking about dropping about 2-3 drops on the crusty area and repeat every day. i dont think i… Continue reading this item... | 1 Comment

Help, My mother is becoming the “Cat Lady”?

Question by butterfly: Help, My mother is becoming the “Cat Lady”?
My mother started with two cats a few years ago, and now it’s up to 20+. I offered to get her two cats fixed last fall, and she got upset with me and told me she would take care of it. Well a year later and she has over 20 cats in her yard and they keep multiplying! I called her this morning, asked if I could come catch some cats and take them out to a farm (some people I know) and she said, to… Continue reading this item... | 10 Comments

Chiclet’s star turn became the #6 Top Favorite pet video–and the top dog video–its first week out. It’s the tale of how a tiny dog survived the scandals of her party-girl past and went on to become an award-winning author, philanthropist and healer. Jan calls it the story… Continue reading this item...
